Plant Sizes Explained

How Our Plants Are Sized

In the plant nursery world, plants are generally sized by their pot size. You may hear these sizes called a "#3 container" or a "3 gallon" pot. These terms are used interchangeably. They mean the same thing. We sell plants in 1 gallon pots all the way up to 30 gallon pots. Some of our smaller plants are sold in 4.5 inch or 6 inch cups.

Is bigger better?

We recommend purchasing the plant size that aligns with your expectations, needs, and budget. Larger plants are often older with more mature root structures, which means they will provide a more instant landscaping impact. Smaller shrubs and trees represent a great value and allow you to lower the overall cost of your landscaping project. They often require more initial care as they get established, and they will take longer to reach maturity.
